What is the new Independent Retail Medicare Part B Rebate Program?

Qualified retail pharmacies or durable medical equipment companies will be eligible to receive manufacturer rebates from Ascensia for approved Medicare Part B claims.

How does the new Independent Retail Medicare Part B Rebate Program work?

As a reminder, this program operates as a rebate-only program for Medicare Part B claims. There is no upfront discount or net-priced product offering.

Here is how the new Independent Retail Medicare Part B Rebate Program works:

  1. Eligible retail pharmacies or durable medical equipment (DME) companies purchase Ascensia retail test strips from their wholesalers.
  2. Ascensia receives data from approved Claims Processors on validated Medicare Part B claims for covered Ascensia products.
  3. Based on validated claims, Ascensia issues monthly rebate checks via The Advertising Checking Bureau, Inc. (ACB) to the eligible pharmacies or DME companies that are enrolled in the program.

How does my retail pharmacy or durable medical equipment company qualify?

Eligible retail pharmacies or durable medical equipment companies must:

(i) Operate a brick and mortar retail pharmacy and/or durable medical equipment company with a valid Retail NPI number and MSN number.

(ii) Must have at least one physical location with a maximum of six physical retail locations.

(iii) Hold CMS accreditation in good standing or an official determination that Retailer is exempt from CMS accreditation.

(iv) Utilize an Ascensia Approved Claims Processor.
